What we collect

The Hub runs on your computer. Outreach logs, Excel contacts, drafts, and AI prompts stay local unless you turn on optional features. We never store a LinkedIn password or session. See Trust.

Optional anonymous conversion counts

Off by default. First launch asks once: Help improve CareerHound? Anonymous counts only, never your data. You can change this in Settings. If you opt in we send only these events, with no resume, contacts, drafts, or email:

  • app_open
  • trial_started
  • paywall_hit(feature)
  • upgrade_click(plan)
  • activated(tier)
  • first_win

Each event may include only event, ts, tier, app_version, os, and machine_hash. Headless runs never send.

Optional cloud

  • AI providers (Claude / Ollama / Groq): profile text you send for note generation is processed by the provider you configure.
  • FastSpring checkout: payment and email are handled by FastSpring when you buy Pro. We receive a webhook event to generate your license key.
  • License and account service: activating or checking a license key, or signing in on the Account page, contacts license.usecareerhound.com with that key or your account email.
  • GitHub Releases (release updater): version check may contact GitHub if you set a token.
  • Notification webhooks: if you add Slack/Discord URLs, event summaries go there.

What we do not do

  • No cloud browser farm.
  • No LinkedIn login, cookies, or browser profile.
  • No selling your contact list.

Cookies and browser storage on this website

This website has no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking cookies, so it does not show a cookie banner. It only stores what the site needs or what you choose:

  • Theme preference: your light or dark choice is saved in your browser's local storage as ch_theme2. It never leaves your device.
  • Account sign-in: if you sign in on the Account page, license.usecareerhound.com sets a session cookie so you stay signed in. It is strictly necessary for sign-in. Signing out ends the session.
  • Checkout: FastSpring runs checkout and may set the cookies it needs to process your order.
  • Fonts: pages load Inter and Plus Jakarta Sans from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them.
